It can take around 5 to 10 business days usually for physical ILL delivery to arrive at your campus library from the lending library, sometimes longer depending on a number of factors. If it was an article or scanned material sent electronically, it will be uploaded to your library account for access/download there. You will be emailed when it is ready to access. To check the status of your requests online, you can check your TCC email for notifications AND you can log into your library account from the library homepage using the link in the lower right hand corner of the Discovery catalog search:
Then, select "Requests"
There, you will see the status of your ILL requests (in yellow above) and the ability to cancel requests you have placed using the checkmark selection options and then scrolling back up to hit "Cancel Requests."
Statuses and what they mean:
- "Submitted" means the request has been sent to the ILL librarians to handle. They are coordinating a supplying library for you.
- "In Transit" means the material has been supplied from a lending supplier library and is on its way to TCC for processing for you. If it is in use/checked out to you, it will merely say the due date.
- If it is "Complete," it means the material has been returned to the lending library or an Open Access link has been supplied to you via email.
- If it is "Canceled" that means either you or the librarian has canceled the request (and perhaps placed a new request for the material under a different number if our first searches went unfilled by any supplier library, etc.). You should have also received an email if the request was cancelled by the librarians.
To cancel your own request, select the item you wish to cancel with a checkmark box and then select the cancel button while on the the "Requests" tab/page:
Please note that if the item has already been supplied and is on its way, the cancellation may not work. You can just let the hold for the ILL expire while it is on the hold shelf or alert the ILL Librarian you no longer need it. It will be shipped back to the supplying library once the due date passes.
If you have more questions, please feel free to reach out to the ILL librarian directly.
