You might try a catalog search, or searching online using the tips below.
Catalog search example searches that you can refine via the limiters at each link or by plugging in other keywords:
If searching on the web, here’s some FAQ that I find helpful to limit to a credible source or help you refine your search:
- Q. How can I get to Google Advanced Search?
- Q. How do I find .GOV or .EDU or .ORG websites?
- Q. How can I find an article over a specific topic from a magazine (or other periodical) my instructor has recommended, published within a specific timeframe?
- Q. Can I access The New York Times online?
Also good to know: anything you find in Google Scholar, you can find in the catalog if you run into paywalls (we have more options for access even if we don't own it, like interlibrary loan).
The TCC Library offers many databases you can use to research anthropology topics.
Global Issues in Context presents varied information related to anthropology.
Your specific topic influences where you should search. If you need articles from newspapers, magazines, or journals, you can select a database that is relevant by using the drop-down limiters on our A-Z listing of our databases.
Limiting to "Humanities" via the Subjects drop down will indicate relevant databases to search. Read through the descriptions to select one. Another good general starting point is Academic Search Premier, a multi-disciplinary database with a wide variety of content.
