For many ebooks in our digital collections, you can choose your download format - PDF or EPUB. Books in PDF retain the look and feel of the print book (how it looked in print publication), and are essentially an image of a page. EPUB allows you to resize the text or alter the font of the book, which may be helpful on a tablet, phone, or other smaller device. It will be like the typed-out or HTML version of a book, versus an image of the page. EPUB is more accessibility friendly as well, and its code is open source. PDF is a proprietary format.
