The TCC Library does offer Document Delivery, where we can scan in material that we own to send to you electronically, if copyright allows.

Sometimes the office that handles interlibrary loans receives requests from library users for items that are actually owned by the TCC Library or available free through open access sources. When this happens, the request will be filled through a process known as Document Delivery. It provides the requested item to the requester, without having to borrow it from an outside library system. TCC Library employees will do the scanning and sending, where applicable.

By using the Interlibrary Loan request form on this page, you can have documents/scans supplied to you. When a request is placed for an item owned by the TCC Library, the ILL Office will place a hold on the item and notify you or will direct you to where you can access a digital copy. If the request falls out of the scope of copyright law or copyright guidelines, we may adjust the request.

The Access Services Office's preference for fulfilling article/copy requests is to fill via a scan of the print version, so that patrons have more context to the provenance of material (i.e. as something looked in print publication). But that is not always possible.

Please note that you cannot typically request a whole book to be copied due to copyright restrictions. Our library follows CONTU guidelines, which means we will only process up to 5 total requests (ie copies of a section) for our entire college from any one (1) title that was published in the last 5 years. Older material will not be added to our accumulative 5.
