We are sorry to hear that the search engines aren't giving good results. Without knowing more about your particular circumstances, we might be of limited help but our tips are below.

  • In both the catalog and databases, it might be you need to use different search terms. See this FAQ on how to form better searches and the importance of search terms.
  • If you are searching one of the library's article databases and retrieving no results, the two causes for usually are either spelling errors or the search is worded too specifically (i.e. typing a question into an article database as opposed to entering one or two keywords).
  • If you are using the search box (Discovery Search) on the library's homepage, it is possible that the results will take a long time to load.  Our Discovery Search box pulls results from many databases and can take quite a while to bring back search results.
