There are several options available if you need a TCC Library book that is currently checked out:

  • Find the book or item in the library catalog and use the interlibrary loan (ILL) button after clicking into the result of the checked-out item to request the material. The librarians who handle ILL will do an assessment on how quickly they can get a copy to you. If our copy is deemed missing, they will push it through as an ILL. If not, they will place a hold for the item on your account for you to get the next available copy.
  • Ask the library staff to help you find another edition or copy of the book at a different campus. Staff can also place a hold on a checked-out book for you, so that you will be next in line for the next available copy. Only librarians who handle ILL can place an ILL request for you, however.
  • If an Overdrive/Libby ebook or audiobook, there is a notification system that will alert you when the item becomes available.
  • Check with the Tulsa City-County Library (public library) or other nearby libraries for a copy if you need it quickly. See links below for how to access other library systems.

To find the closest library to you which owns an item, the Discovery catalog will also tell you. This video (no audio) demos how to view the libraries closest to you that own an item. Keep in mind, this does not mean you will always be able to use their library or that their copy is available. But this is the same information the ILL librarian use to coordinate requests:
