Q. How does the Library of Congress Classification System work?

The TCC Library, like most academic libraries in the U.S., uses the Library of Congress (LC) Classification System to shelve books by subject (in contrast to the Dewey Decimal Classification System). In this system, each letter stands for subject area. Books on similar subjects will be shelved next to each other. See links below for more information.
