Q. What are Reserves? What is the Reserves shelf or section of the library?

You might hear your instructor say something is "on reserve" or "reserves" at the TCC Library or on the "Reserves shelf." This is a special section of non-circulating items (items typically cannot leave the library) for materials used in courses taught at that campus. Each TCC Library location's Reserves shelves will be slightly different, and the items (usually textbooks or films) can be viewed in the library for the entire course to make use of as a shared resource. Most items on Reserves are not owned or purchased by the library, but come from the class's department or instructor.
