Q. When citing a book or item off of a TCC Library database or from the Discovery catalog, is the citation button correct?

Our catalog and databases all have citation generators for each result that can get you about 90% of the way there, but you will want to double check that the information is correct and that the citation matches expectations of your instructor. It can save you from having to type a lot, and it is good to collect the citations as you go along in your research (perhaps copying and pasting into your works cited page or another Word doc), so that you don't have to go back and find them if you end up using the source for your assignment. 

The TCC Library staff are not experts on citation styles. Please see the Writing Center for those issues! However, we can help with formatting them into a paper (such as adjusting settings on a Word doc to get a hanging indent, etc.). Please see links below to more info.
