What happens if a student is in class on the first day but isn’t enrolled?

Answer

When this is discovered, the instructor should allow the student to sit in that one day, but then the student must present to Academic Advising as soon as possible, but definitely within 24 hours. There will not be an automatic exception, but the student should be allowed, space available, to sit in the first time only. The instructor should notify the Chair and the Dean/AD if the student attended that first day. This information will be important when the Dean/AD or Chair make a decision on an exception.
